How much with Samsung Galaxy S5 cost in India?
Samsung has taken the wraps off its latest flagship smartphone Galaxy S5 at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014 in Barcelona, Spain during its Unpacked 5 event.
Samsung revealed that it will be making its water and dust-proof smartphone available globally across 150 countries in April with Indian launch slated for April 11.
There have been quite a few rumours about the pricing of the newly unveiled smartphone and it is believed that the Galaxy S5 will be priced at a whopping ₹60,000 for the 16GB variant and ₹64,000 for the 32GB variant.
Some have speculated that the smartphone will be priced at a lower price band to match the prices of Apple’s iPhone 5S – meaning that the Galaxy S5 16GB variant will be priced at ₹50,000 and 32GB will cost ₹54,000.
The Galaxy S5 features a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED 1,080 X 1,920p display, 2.5GHz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, and will come with in 16GB and 32GB internal storage variants expandable up to 64GB through microSD card.
Some of the other features of the Galaxy S5 are 16-megapixel rear camera, 2.1-megapixel front snapper. The South Korean consumer electronics giant claims that the Galaxy S5 packs world’s fastest auto-focus speed up to 0.3 seconds. The smartphone will run Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box and features dimpled soft-touch cover, similar to the Nexus 7(2012) tablet.
Imitating Apple, the new Galaxy smartphone packs a fingerprint sensor integrated with the phone’s home button. The finger scanner will offer a biometric screen-locking feature and mobile payment experience to consumers.
