A top rated seller on eBay is offering the all new Huawei Ascend Mate smartphone for a price that is over ₹6000 less than the retail price – for just ₹22,718.

The device was unveiled at CES in Las Vegas this year alongside another handset from Huawei – the Ascend Mate D2. The thing that surprises here is that the smartphone landed on the shelves earlier than we expected and a discount of 24% makes this handset a definite buy if you don’t mind a smartphone from a Chinese company – a huge brand nonetheless.

The Ascend Mate is powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz, 2GB RAM, 6.1-inch display with HD resolution, an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 1-megapixel front facing one, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, DLNA compatibility, a microUSB port, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and a massive 4,050mAh battery. Ascend Mate has been launched as the competitor to Samsung’s Galaxy Note 2.

Ascend Mate is just 9.9mm thick and weighs just under 200g. According to Huawei, the screen to body ratio on the smartphone stands at 73 per cent indicating that nearly three-quarters of the smartphone (front part) is occupied by the display.

Some of the other features of the smartphone are Intel XMM6260 baseband that supports five bands 16GB internal storage (expandable through a microSD card slot) and Corning’s Gorilla Glass.
