Guide to installing any Windows version with any Windows disc
There are times when your Windows 7 / Windows 8 laptop / desktop crashes and your vendor was kind enough ‘NOT’ to provide you with a recovery disc that would help you get your system back on its feet. Further, you are stuck as you have a specific version of Windows on your system (say Windows 7 Business) and you are not able to get your hands onto a disc specifically for that version of the OS. You do have a disc (say Windows 7 Home Premium) but, can’t install the Business version from it as the disc would be matched with a key for Home Premium only.
So the question is how to get around this problem? Well its easy. All you need full ISO file copied from any a Windows disc of any version and Ei.cfg Removal Utility. The utility would delete the key file within the ISO file.
How would you go about doing this If you have a Windows 7 disc?
- Burn an ISO file from the disc onto your hard drive.
- Then run the Ei.cfg utility.
- While the utility is doing its job, use the Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool to burn the recently tweaked ISO file on a flash drive.
- Once done all you have to do is boot the crashed system from that flash drive, select the version that you have the license key for, enter the license key and you’re all set.
