Micromax is all set to unveil its Canvas 4 smartphone preorders for which are starting from June 28 and is a handset dubbed to be a likely contender of the Samsung Galaxy S4. There have been official announcements, rumours and leaks all around the place and here are a few thing that we know about the Canvas 4.
According to Micromax the Canvas 4 is going to be powered by a quad-code processor, will have a 5-inch display and will boast of a 13-megapixel camera. Now that’s about it when it comes to official information. There has also been a word that the smartphone will be carrying a price tag below the ₹20,000 mark.
When we go into rumours, there are all kinds of things floating around. A full HD screen with IPS panel, android 4.2.2 Jelly bean which will be upgradable to Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage expandable to 32GB through the microSD card, two handset variants based on colour (white and black), Mediatek quad-core processor among others.
Pricing has been a great speculation and word is that the handset may be priced anywhere between ₹16,000 and ₹18,000. We believe that if Micromax wants to not only contend with Samsung but other local vendors as well, it would need to keep the pricing of the Canvas 4 well below even the ₹16k mark.
A couple of days back a screenshot of a website listing the Canvas 4 was captured which had information about the specification of the smartphone. According to the leak the Canvas 4 will be featuring a quad-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz, 2GB of RAM, FM radio among quite a few other features.
