Is it a laptop or a tablet? The HP ENVY X2 11-G004TU is actually both. It is a tablet that comes with a detachable keyboard and it costs ₹ 60,990 at Croma Retail. This definitely makes the hybrid ultrabook a lot more expensive than its competitors like the Acer Iconia W510 or Asus Vivotab or the Android-based Asus Transformer Prime TF201.

Going into specifications, the device is powered by an Intel Atom Z2760 dual core processor which is clocked at 1.8GHz complemented by 2GB of RAM. The tablet laptop hybrid has an 11.6-inch 1,366 x 768 touchscreen display, is equipped with dual speakers with Beats Audio, has Windows 8 preinstalled, is loaded with 64GB SSD (solid state drive), offers up to seven hours battery life as a tablet and 14 as a laptop.

Some of the other features include NFC, HD Webcam, Bluetooth, an 8-megapixel camera, Intel HD graphics, two USB ports, a large touchpad called the “Imagepad” and Wi-Fi.

If we look at the size, with the keyboard attached, the thickness of X2 is around 19mm. Get rid of the attachment and the weight of the hybrid goes down to just 700g, which for a 11.6in device is more than reasonable. HP has loaded the Envy X2 with its own software such as Connected Music, Connected Photo, Games, Connected ePrint and Recovery Manager.

The hybrid laptop competes with the likes of the Latitude 10 and the Lenovo Thinkpad 2.
